Ashby, Jacqueline
Development sociologist, specializing in the application of participatory and quantitative sociological research to issues of rural innovation, with a focus on mountain and highland ecologies. She pioneered programme development for participatory research, both in the public sector --including the CGIAR's PRGA Program -- and with grassroots producer organizations, and has published extensively about participatory research issues.She is currently researching evidence-based policy to influence the inclusion of the poor in rural innovation systems and engaged in program development to promote rural women's leadership.
