UN Panel Recommends First Agency Dedicated Solely to Women

Women's rights and equality are central to development, according to the office of the UN Special Envoy for HIV/Aids in Africa. In a formal recognition of the importance of women’s empowerment to equal rights, peace and development, a high level UN reform panel has recommended the creation of the organization's first agency dedicated solely to women.
