A third workshop titled "Gender Responsive Research and Development" was organized by the PRGA Program in collaboration with the Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and NRM (WOCAN) network in Nepal between July 17-24 2006. This workshop is part of the larger initative on "Institutionalizing Gender-responsive Research and Development in Agriculture and NRM through Women's Networks". Workshop participants included members from Meghalaya and Sikkim in North east India, Nepal, Bhutan and Laos.
The major topics covered by this workshop: capacity building of the partners themselves in gender analysis, gender mainstreaming and organizational analysis, and on building the support for their Action Plans and activities within their own organizations

After months of pressure from women's rights groups, the Secretary General’s High Level Panel on Coherence allowed them to have their say in a consultation in Geneva, Switzerland. On July 2, the Panel met with representatives of more than 50 international civil society groups, including WEDO, to address the cross-cutting themes of gender equality, human rights and sustainable development/ environment.
